Our initial product ESCApe
ESCApe is a novel biobased crop protection product based on our lignin microcarrier platform technology. Our initial product ESCApe takes a completely new approach to controlling the grapevine disease ESCA, which was previously considered incurable. With ESCApe, not only healthy plants can be protected from ESCA, but also vines that are already infected can be cured and prevented from becoming reinfected.

Advantages
Our crop protection product ESCApe against grapevine disease ESCA offers you many advantages in protecting your yielding plants through the use of our patented lignin microcarrier technology.
Human
Due to the direct injection into the stem of the vine and the small amounts of encapsulated active ingredient in the product, ESCApe ensures a high level of user safety.
Environmental
Because ESCApe is injected into the stem of the plants, the harmful pathogens can be effectively controlled with a minimal amount of active ingredient in the product without contaminating the crop or the environment.
Economic
100 winegrowers we surveyed said they suffered an average loss of about €73 per plant due to Esca. We can drastically reduce these losses.
"Because of our highly targeted application into the stem of the plant and the very low levels of encapsulated fungicide, ESCApe allows for a high level of user protection"

The three application steps of ESCApe
1. Drill
Drill an approx. 2.5 cm deep hole with a diameter of 6 mm at an angle of 45° into the trunk of the plant using a standard cordless screwdriver.
2. Inject
In the second step, 0.8 ml of the ESCApe product is filled into the previously drilled hole using a specially designed injector.
3. Seal
In the last step, the hole in the plant stem filled with ESCApe is closed with a wooden plug.

Experts' opinions
Prof. Katharina Landfester
For me, ESCApe's technology is groundbreaking. Taking its cue from the approaches used in human medicine, which is now capable of curing previously incurable diseases, ESCApe is now making this strategy attractive to agriculture without harming the environment.
In contrast to conventional large-area spraying of pesticides, our application method reaches the pest where it is - inside the plant.
Alexander Throm
As a connoisseur of the wine industry, I know how annoying and loss-making the Esca-related failure of valuable wine plants is. Due to climate change, Esca infestations are more likely to increase. That's why our product ESCApe is not just a sustainable crop protection product, but rather a revolutionary approach to the existential risks of our time.
Expert reviews
Unlike conventional large-scale spraying of crop protection products, our application method reaches the pest where it is - inside the plant.
